Remy LeBeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised by the Thieves' Guild, who taught him the ways of the thief. He was soon exiled after killing another of the thieves and wandered the world, before helping a young Storm find her way back to the X-Men, who subsequently accepted him in their ranks, although most didn't trust him. Over the years he has remained one of the only constant members of the X-Men.
Gambit is one of my favourite characters as his back story is very interesting and he is quite a mysterious and unpredictable character. During his time in the X-Men, he is one of the team who has gone through the least changes, and the fact that the character remains constant also adds to his charms.
